Peter’s career as a Chartered Accountant began in 1985. He completed audits on behalf of the firms he worked for, and was a Financial Controller for a Solicitor’s firm before he set up his own Chartered Accountancy Firm in 2006. Peter is all about teamwork; as seen in his volunteering for Folkestone RFC as their Treasurer, his constant support and development of his team, and his motivation to help business owners understand their business. In the 38 years since his career began, Peter has worked with businesses of varying sizes and industries. He has a calm approach to problem-solving, and great communication skills – meaning he’ll happily talk you through any concerns, and help you formulate a flight path for your business to grow. Peter’s aspirations for his own business include growing to £0.5m within the next five years. When Peter isn’t at his desk or networking, he can be found watching sport – cricket, rugby and the F1 specifically – walking, reading, or completing jigsaw puzzles.

The longest serving team member, outside of Peter himself, Niki is the backbone of Stones Accountancy. As practice manager, her main roles include client interaction, managing her wonderful team, and preparing clients and staff for potential challenges. Niki constantly strives for a healthy work/life balance, and understands that many of Stones’ clients do as well. She enjoys focusing on her fitness and walking her dog, who occasionally visits the Stones office and is a lovely addition when he does. She supports multiple charities including Cancer Research and Dog Rescue, and her keys to success are a positive work ethic, patience and loyalty – attributes which make her wonderful at her job.

Starting as an admin assistant within an accountancy firm, Leia understands that it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to become an accountant and has aspirations of becoming a fully Chartered Accountant. She enjoys the variety of her role, helping clients understand their finances and learning new skills. Leia is currently MAAT Qualified, and working towards their ACA, which means lots of revision and exams. It means her knowledge is fresh, relevant and reliable, and her working demeanour calm and friendly. She values her ‘real world experience’ having worked retail jobs prior to moving to accountancy, and she makes a great cup of tea. When she’s away from Stones Accountancy, you can find Leia with her family, and family dog, going for walks or swimming.

Fran understands that payroll and bookkeeping can feel like just another complication when trying to run your business, so she’s able to provide support and structure as you make your way through the red tape. Continuously working on developing her professional understanding and qualifications, Fran is a hard worker, patient and polite employee, who strongly supports SANDS (The Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity) based at the Royal College, London.

Caroline is, for most of Stones’ newest clients, the first friendly voice you’ll hear over the phone or friendly face you’ll see when you visit the office. She enjoys the variety of work, working with her team to support clients of Stones Accountancy and engaging in client communication. Caroline is an energetic and active soul, staying fit with regular walks, visiting the gym and going running. She also enjoys gardening, cooking and upcycling old furniture. She’s incredibly social, spending a lot of time with friends and family, and welcoming visiting clients with a cup of tea. Caroline also has prior experience in the finance industry, as she was previously a Private Client Investment Officer at Coutts Bank in London. And if you ask Caroline what one of her key skills are, she’ll answer ‘Being able to persist with HMRC, so you don’t have to!’
